Praxis Expands with its Pharma Serialization Project

Ferox helps a client get their contract packaging solution "serialization ready"...

Starting in 2016 and delivering in the first quarter of 2017, Ferox worked with one of our premier clients, Praxis Packaging , to prepare for pharmaceutical serialization. We helped Praxis Packaging fast-track the configuration and testing of this FDA requirement for packaging prescription drugs. We were responsible for all aspects of information technology for the project, setting up systems to process critical data from the production line to Praxis' customer.

What is serialization? "Pharmaceutical serialization is the tracking and tracing of the passage of prescription drugs through the supply chain from manufacturing to dispensing. This is generally accomplished through automated, electronic means, and is legally required in many countries. It involves such company practices as recording, authenticating, maintaining and sharing accurate records of items prior to dispatching. Pharmaceutical serialisation uses track and trace technology though the timings for implementation and the information required for a serialisation program is dependent on local national laws and standards." -- wikipedia.org

The FDA has set some significant deadlines, starting with November 27, 2017. Ferox helped Praxis Packaging be ready for serialization well before that deadline and will continue to support their efforts as the upcoming deadlines approach.

With our deep partnership with Praxis, we were able to successfully help coordinate the delivery of this multi-vendor solution. In addition to having met specific requirements to support one of Praxis' customers, we are now working with Praxis to connect serialization with even more pharma companies, helping to expand even more business opportunities for Praxis.

The recent increase in cases has resulted in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services setting new rules for employees and employers. As we did earlier this year, we continue to provide IT operations, software development, and consulting services while following CDC and Michigan guidelines. While we are permitted to travel to client sites, we can support most clients remotely as we have been doing as part of our established emergency and disaster recovery plans. Per the State of Michigan, all employees who are able to work from home are required to, including Ferox employees. Respecting that, we are minimizing our onsite and face-to-face meetings when possible. If you are one of our clients, please use our existing communications methods to get support and move your projects forward including our project management and issue tracking systems. Your management team should also have direct access to us through your account team's direct mobile numbers. If you are not a current client, we would like to help you get the same level of support and personal service that our existing clients receive or you need help setting up your employees to work from home, contact us now at (888)-24FEROX or use our contact form.

We take threat of COVID-19 very seriously and have been following the CDC guidelines and the requirements of the state of Michigan. As part of the IT Support industry, we are considered Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers under the guidelines established by the US Federal government and the guidelines referenced by the Governor of Michigan on March 23, 2020 in order 2020-21 and following orders to date. This means we are allowed to travel to customer sites to provide critical services as needed. Our team has letters in hand to clarify this. While we are permitted to travel to client sites, most clients can and will be supported remotely as we have been long prepared to do this as part of our emergency and disaster recovery plans. Follow these recommendations to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases: Always cover coughs or sneezes with a tissue or sleeve. Stay home if you are sick and advise others to do the same. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol, if soap and warm water are not available. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces (computers, keyboards, desks, etc.). Safely keep in touch and monitor your at-risk friends and family. Stay safe and stay well. April 2020

A conversation I had yesterday has me thinking, "why has Google become my personal go-to for software and services over Microsoft?" I'm not a fan-boy, I just feel the GA tools out perform M$. Why is that?
